But at the time most of us enjoyed playing the game. Then after Black Ops we moved onto MW3, the build up to this game was huge and convinced many old rfom members to return to the clan for MW3. With the introduction of Call of Duty elite and aside from the start of MW3 the Call of Duty series was improving on the lag side of things.
With Call of Duty elite it finally gave the Call of Duty series a much needed clan system, taking years to implement this firstly was a mistake from COD but hey, better late than never! Another great feature of Elite was the clan operations which finally gave the game a bit more of a casual competive edge, most people don't want to play MLG games to feel like there competing so the clan operations were a nice touch. The year on this game was thoroughly enjoyable for most people and it showed by over 20 members of the clan reaching over 100,000 kills! But by the end of the year as with all Call of Duty games people were getting a bit tired of it.
Black Ops 2 was announced which got EVERYBODY excited. If Infinity Ward and Call of Duty Elite made that many improvements for their next installment surely Treyarch were going to learn from their mistakes and do the same? WRONG!
Now everyone shit on Black Ops 2 from the start but I was one of the people who tried to be patient with the game because it is a great game but the flaws of the people who run the game and series is what brings it down. The first thing I noticed with this game was ELITE, the clan system didn't work for ages and when they fixed it, it still looks horrible and confusing! Games are about bringing the clan together not driving them apart! Before I go further I would like to mention since MW2, Call of Duty releases top each other or equal each other more or less every year. When they broke the record for the highest earning and selling franchise in gaming they broke the record in the entertainment category. Let me clarify this, they out sold films, cds, books, everything. Now that's a lot of money. Plus the extra income they made from everyone signing up to premium on elite and do not get me started on DLC. Yeah they make a lot of money.
SO WHY NO DEDICATED SERVERS?
That sentance right there is why Call of Duty in my opinion is on it's last legs. I gave up playing Black Ops 2 becuase of the lag, slighly improved from the first Black Ops but still there. Some people still try to convince me there is no lag but there wrong, there blinded. Play BF3 on a dedicated server and then go back to Call of Duty and you will see the difference.
I tried for so long to stick with what really are great games in the Call of Duty series but I'm done with them purely for the fact that they do not listen to there fans and the one point the fans want them to listen to. DEDICATED SERVERS and no lag.
I started playing BF3 and the learning curve is steep, you will spend the first week getting owned by.. well you will get owned by everyone but in my opinion BF3 is a far better game. The community seems to be more mature, there is not as many people abusing the game by dashboarding, kd whoring and quickscoping compared to the Call of Duty series, rarely do I lag. In fact I can't remember ever lagging on this game. There is so many different ways to play this game because there's so many ways to use tonnes of different weapons and vehicles. It's the closest thing to a real life war simulator you will get in my opinion. It's just an overall great game with tonnes of replay value and especially if you rent your own server will bring you and your clan mates close mates gaming again! Now the game is not perfect but to conclude, you should trade in your slutty tramp games from the Call of Duty series and by the reliable wife material BF3!
